I Uncovered Some Money Saving Summer Travel Ideas Recently!

Even though the economy is bad, we still need a little vacation now and then. I spent some time doing research to see if I can arrange a nice trip while saving money in the process. Based on my time spent on several travel sites, it seems that the major online websites all can find good travel deals if I can be a little flexible.

Basically, in addition to finding the best price for airfare, car rental and hotel, it is important that you to use a travel website that has a reputation for providing a trouble-free vacation.  I can look for the best prices on airfare and hotel rooms, but if I find a travel destination where I can drive my own car, it might save me even more. One obvious choice is Southern California.

You’ll find a bunch of information and advice related to Southern California at the SoCal Vacation Guru website.  It focuses mainly on Orange County and Los Angeles County, but will eventually expand to provide more information on San Diego County and the Inland Empire desert and mountain areas as well. But there’s great information at the SoCal Vacation Guru about Universal Studios Hollywood, Disneyland, the beaches, shopping, dining and other activities.

I mentioned above just a couple of the seven major theme parks in Southern California, the complete list being Disneyland, Disney’s California Adventure, Knott’s, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Universal Studios, SeaWorld and Legoland. Of course visiting all of those would not be particularly cheap, but you could fit a lot of vacation fun into a short period of time. This is probably a good time to take a vacation and find great deals on hotel reservations if your budget allows for it, as a lot of hotels and attractions are looking for business.

Theme parks are offering some discounts, and the prices might be a bit lower at museums and other activities as well. Rather than flying to your vacation destination, you may find that, even with the crazy behavior of gasoline prices recently, you can save money by driving to Southern California this year.
