Be Prepared for An Emergency And Go Green With a Crank Flashlight
Posted on November 24th, 2009 No commentsCrank flash lights are a perfect for various emergency situations but also have a number of practical uses. Charging the flashlight is done though the crank, which also provides the power to whatever other devices on included with the particular model.
If you want to have a flashlight handy and not have to worry about dead batteries when you need it, a hand crank flashlight is perfect. Keep a crank flashlight on hand for emergencies such as a power failure, and for recreational use.
As you crank a crank flashlight there is a negative and positive magnetic field, that when cranked and positive pushes against negative they create a static coil field. The conflicting currents generate electricity used to power and light up the bulb.
The crank flashlight is convenient because it is powered by the user and it will work as long as the bulb lasts, and bulbs need replacing much less frequently than batteries. Some crank flashlights are made even more appealing by the addition of extra functions such as radios and lamps.
The built in radio that a crank flashlight may have serves as a portable source of entertainment for those without electricity, and again without the need of a battery. A built-in lamp serves as a much more wider source of light, perfect for illuminating rooms, cars, or tents. A crank flashlight is a important item to have in your emergency kit because it does not work on batteries and no matter when you need the crank flashlight is ready for use.
It’s great for your car, either in the glove box or under the seat, or you can put in your backpack, a drawer, or keep it in unlit areas of your house such as the basement or attic. Since the flashlight can come with or without several attachments, it can come in different sizes; smaller and more portable ones come with a smaller bulb and a hand crank and others can be as large as a 2 liter bottle, because apart from the flashlight, they also have other attachments.
Depending on the usage for the crank flashlight, one could even carry it in his or her’s pocket. What puts crank flashlights over the edge from normal flashlights is the dependability. Hand crank flashlights will never, ever need batteries, unlike standard flashlights. It’s perfect for those occasions when it’s dark, you’re out of batteries, and you need light.
