Tardive Dyskinesia Sufferers Are Sometimes Prisoners In Their Own Houses
Posted on September 3rd, 2010 No commentsTardive dyskinesia is not a particularly well known condition. Imagine spending your waking hours with uncontrolled grimacing of the face, rapid eye movements or blinking, jaw moving back and forth, a repetitive chewing with no food in your mouth and your tongue thrusting in and out. Obviously, this involuntary behavior would keep most of us from going out into public, a prisoner in our own homes.
Did you know that Reglan has often been over-prescribed and that many people suffer from reglan side effects. If you or a loved one have any of these side effects you should contact a Reglan attorney to learn about possible compensation.
What makes this permanent condition even more sad, is that it is avoidable. Neuroleptics are anti-psychotic medications, originally used in the treatment of mental illness, primarily schizophrenia. They have been prescribed since the 1950′s and since that time it has been found that 20-30% of patients prescribed such drugs develop tardive dyskinesia.
It was often seen as a low enough risk given the benefits and the seriousness of these types of mental conditions.Reglan, also referred to metoclopramide, is one of the drugs in this family. It is commonly prescribed to treat gastrointestinal disorders such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), persistent heartburn, nausea, vomiting, and a feeling of stomach fullness.
In 2009, the American FDA issued a warning about the long-term or high-dose use of Reglan due to reports of tardive dyskinesia. The drug was never meant to be prescribed in high dosages or for long term use, according to the original FDA-approval.
The elderly, who often find themselves being cared for in nursing homes, are often given a long list of medications to control their health problems. Sadly, in too many cases, the drugs these seniors are taking are not reviewed often enough. In the case of Reglan, again, meant for short term use with a minimum effective dosage level, this is the condition that can contribute to tardive dyskinesia.
If you, or a loved one, suffer from the above mentioned symptoms, please contact the doctor who prescribed Reglan. There also is hope for compensation through a class action lawsuit, to help with the medical care, lost wages, pain and suffering experienced by long term use of this drug.

Your Kitchen Is Your Kingdom
Posted on September 3rd, 2010 No commentsAs the world we live in becomes more complex growing numbers of people are gravitating more and more to the familiar and comforting things and places that remind them of what really matters in their lives. Where else do we experience the true togetherness of extended family and friendship as simply and with as much old fashioned wholesomeness as in our kitchens? Where is the one place in our homes where everyone can come together, cook, eat, laugh and talk but in our kitchens? Who doesn’t remember the kitchens of their mothers, grandmothers, university girlfriends and the kitchen where they first cooked a meal together with their first real grown-up love? Yet how many of us accord this room the respect and love it deserves in return? When last did we take a good long look at our kitchens and ask how well we are looking after them? After all, surely we should give something back?| Have you taken a good look at your kitchen lately? A really good look! Remember what kitchens mean to you before you do this…..they are rooms full of family, mothers, grandmothers baking apple pies and boyfriends trying to impress you with their own special brand of scrambled eggs. Kitchens are where you’ve washed baby bottles, mopped up spilt milk and laughed with your husband at the end of a long day. Kitchens are where you get together with your girlfriends over a bottle – or two – of chardonnay and delectably impractical slivers of smoked salmon and brie on a crisp ciabatta. And what about the time your son cut his foot outside and sat on the kitchen table while you kissed it better as he absorbed the smells of roast potatoes and all the trimmings? What have you done for kitchen lately?
With the demands of simply keeping pace with our working, family and social lives we seldom have the opportunity to stand still long enough to look around us, never mind at the state of the kitchen. But, if we did we would see that with a little effort we could convert our kitchens into rooms that reflected a little better the people we are and the atmosphere we enjoy most. Whether its contemporary or rustic you want you don’t have to splurge on a whole new kitchen either. A few simple adjustments and revisions can make the world of difference.
I was treated to an excellent live demonstration of this a month ago when I visited Graham my bachelor friend who spends more time in an aeroplane above the Atlantic than he does behind his own kitchen stove. He had always a rather dull and slightly neglected cold kitchen that I never really wanted to linger in. That had certainly changed! He had upgraded his kitchen from economy to first class and the result was an inviting friendly room that gently reflected the afternoon sun on a glittering mosaic that covered the small but well placed kitchen table.
Graham explained that he simply got fed up with avoiding cooking because he found his own kitchen unpleasant to be in and had suddenly discovered a creative side in himself just dying to break out of the closet. Because he did so much of the work himself it really hadn’t cost him that much either as he had very few labour costs and had used innovative paint techniques on his walls that looked far more expensive than they actually were. The one area he had spent a little more was in replacing all his kitchen sink fittings. It is amazing how difference new taps and plugs make as they simply take years off the kitchen sink and the sparkle of brand new stainless makes everything around it look new as well. I was even more impressed when I opened the drawers. Graham had customized wooden drawer dividers to fit all his kitchen drawers, with the result that everything was now tidy and in place and it still looked good inside the drawers.
It really is not that difficult to take a boring underexploited space and liven it up with a few simple steps that increase its appeal for everyone who uses it. Whether you opt to focus on your lighting and invest in a simple skylight, or concentrate your energies on overhauling existing fittings with sandpaper and a little paint, tile the area above your stove in interesting mosaic, or simply have a spring clean that your grandmother would be proud of, we can all make our kitchens even more comforting spaces.

Buy A Car with Bad Credit With No Money Down
Posted on September 3rd, 2010 No commentsYou’ve got bad credit and dealer after dealer is wanting money down. To buy a car with bad credit, with no money down, you need to know a few things.
First, there are only two reasons that a dealer would want a down payment…
The most common reason is because it adds profit to the sale. The other less common reason is because it’s needed to lower the total amount financed for approval by the lender. Trying to figure out which is the real motivation to pressuring you for cash is a little difficult so long as, you are depending on the dealer to get you approved.
Most people think that if they have bad credit, they have to use the financing offered through the car dealership. After all, the local bank won’t give you a loan right? This is a common mistake that can cost you thousands of dollars in outrageous finance charges.
Let me fill you in on a little BIG secret…
Car dealerships mark up the price of the car. Everyone knows that. Did you know that they ALSO mark up the interest rate? Yes, they do. They submit your credit application to lenders. The lender responds with an offer. Let’s say that they approve you for a rate of 9%. Guess what? The dealer, knowing that you know you have bad credit will try to convince you that you are approved at 12%. The 3% difference becomes nothing more than profit that the finance manager gets paid a commission on. Guess you pays for it… you. Your payments go up 10, 20, 30, 50 or even $100.00 per month simply because the dealership marked up the interest rate.
The truth is this. You can buy a car with bad credit with no down payment and also with lower interest rates by simply avoiding the dealer finance department altogether. If you know where to look and prearrange your financing (yes it’s done everyday), then you can have the confidence to walk into a dealership, pick out the car of your choice based on the amount the finance company preapproves you for and had the dealer a check. This puts the power of negotiating price in your favor.
Car dealers will be jumping over backwards for your business.
