Store Cards Encourage Debt
Posted on September 29th, 2009 No commentsSummary
An enormous amount of people use store cards but are they conscious of the horrific levels of interest fees? This article explains how the cards work and provides some valuable advice. We have to be honest, we are not huge admirers of store credit cards. Although, there are more than 14 million store credit card holders with unpaid balances of around 4 billion pounds. And some 85 stores manage shop cards, mostly department stores, large DIY retailers and clothing retailers.
Store cards, are a branded card which may only be used in the appropriate chain or correct shop. By tradition they are the most expensive source of credit, charging up to and over thirty per cent interest per year. That is much higher than the conventional local bank card. As the average shop card balance is around 900 pounds, that would mean that card holders would be paying 255 pounds a per annum simply in interest. That kind of cost can easily mount up becoming an uncontrollable debt .
Taking into account the plus side of store cards, they can be useful as the department stores generally promote them with discounts off the goods purchased on the card and they may also provide an extended interest free period. Clients can also get particular promotions sent to them in the post or be informed of new brands before other shoppers.
On the other side, hazards await those who are clearly tempted by ”nothing to pay for 6 months”, “interest-free” or discounts offers particularly those who may by now be juggling debt . These card holders could be using them precisely because they haven’t got the cash to pay the whole amount now and they are living in hope that things will be better later. Not a great idea!
Chain stores also need to be concerned about over determined sales people promoting store credit cards to customers who have little understanding about how to manage their use of the card. In our view, it’s so easy to convince someone to sign up for a store card, but if you don’t pay off the total amount within the interest-free period this type of card is an extremely costly way of obtaining credit .
We do admit that the credit cards can be so appealing when, by taking out the card you are eligible for the discounts.Nevertheless, it remains all to easy for debts on your store credit card to rocket out of control.
Hence, as a rule we counsel you to ignore store cards unless you are entirely sure} that you will pay off the whole bill immediately the store card bill comes.Debt consultants are incessantly applying the financial regulators to raise interest rate warnings. They feel that statements for shop cards ought to include a very noticeable warning stating their APR interest rate and what the holder has to pay if only the minimum payment is made.
Therefore if you do opt to accept a credit card be very certain how much it will cost you. We know that many British shoppers find credit cards to be a tempting way to get huge savings on their shopping. But please, let us say again, always promptly pay off the full amount each month. This is the only way to avoid the store card debt trap

Eessential items when traveling with kids
Posted on September 29th, 2009 No commentsWith a child in the terrible two’s, life is all about being organized and trying to have as little chaos as possible.
Traveling with the kids is always an adventure. Whether we’re on a shopping trip for groceries or taking a longer car ride to see relatives, it’s important that you always have the necessary gear within arms reach. Consequently we always have a bag full of goodies like pacifiers, crackers, sippy cup, toys, books, whatever it takes to keep him entertained.
One of the essential pieces of travel gear we have are the kalencom diaper bag which makes life much easier and more organized.
Fortunately we’ve entered the age when he’s content to watch TV in the car. We have a built in DVD entertainment system and it plays a kid friendly movie constantly. Of course he still has to holler once in a while and gets fussy when his every need isn’t met instantly, but at least it keeps him occupied for a while.
It requires a lot of creativity on the part of parents when traveling with kids. Its easy for adults to get bored to imagine how difficult it is for hyperactive kids to sit still and be silent. We need to find car games, ask them about school, generally try to engage them so they don’t get whiny and out of hand.
I like to use car time to find out what my oldest child did during the day. It’s a chance for us to have a real conversation. Although, if his little brother starts hollering then all bets are off.

Home Gardening
Posted on September 29th, 2009 No commentsOver the last few years home gardening has become an increasingly popular past-time and hobby. In fact, studies show that home gardening is at an all time high in the UK right now. In the USA 8 out of 10 households take part in some type of home gardening activity. Obviously from the number of people that are doing it, home gardening is one of the most popular recreational activities in nation.
Most people that try their hand at home gardening plant flowers; at least they start out planting flowers anyway. Roses will probably be the first thought into any gardeners mind, but roses will take extra time and work, and should probably be left to those who have gardened before. When planting flowers many choices are available, such as bulbs, perennials, and annuals.
Growing your own fresh fruit and veg. Perhaps the best thing about edibles is the reward of eating fresh fruit and veg. The list of fruit and vegetables that home gardeners can grow at home is endless. Some of the most popular vegetables grow at home are, potatoes, peas, corn, carrots, squash, and cucumber. Many gardeners opt for fruits, such as, watermelons, tomatoes, peaches, plums, apples, pears, and apricots. Small fruits, such as strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries usually require less work and less space, making them much more feasible for home gardening. The growing of herbs, most often used as spices in cooking, are growing in popularity every day as they can be grown on window sills; some of the most grown include basil, thyme, oregano, parsley, and cilantro. One of the most important things to watch for when planting edibles is insects and disease, after all, you do not want to miss out on the feast you will get to enjoy from healthy plants.
There is not much difference between home gardening and gardening anywhere else. Plants still need to be planted in a good location. The plants still need water and they still need the same nutrients. Home gardening should not cause anyone to get nervous. If you do decide to try homing gardening and finding out that you don’t have green hands, do not get discouraged. Get some information, visit a good garden centres directory and read up on gardening, and try it again the next planting season.
Many people don’t know it, but landscaping is a form of home gardening. Landscaping covers many different areas and forms of gardening. You can even classify mowing your lawn as landscaping! Keeping in the line of grasses, landscaping nearly always involves decorative grasses, and the great thing about them is they don’t take much work for upkeep. Types of grass include monkey grass, pampas, buffalo grass, flame grass, and ornamental millet. Landscaping is not just limited to plant life, but also includes anything done to a garden for decoration, such as adding rocks or stones, putting a small pond, statutes, or a waterfall.

how to keep your horse happy
Posted on September 29th, 2009 No commentsAnyone who turns out their horse in the winter knows that a horse’s coat changes from the summer to the winter. But have you ever wondered what is at work for this to happen? This week I read about research done in the United Kingdom studying the coats of horses that died in the summer and the coats of those died in the fall.
As would be expected, there was a higher number of sweat glands in comparison in the Thoroughbreds and the non-Thoroughbreds compared to the ponies. The non-Thoroughbreds and the ponies’ sebaceous glands were busier in the summer wicking away sweat from their coats.
Of these three groups, the Thoroughbreds results were more stunning. The researchers have thought that it may be of their Arabian ancestry with its roots in a hotter climate. The Thoroughbreds skin was much thinner in the summer than a non-Thoroughbred. They had the greatest skin change from summer to winter with a larger increase of sebaceous gland volume. Interestingly the Thoroughbreds had higher volume measurements for the sebaceous glands in the winter than the non-Thoroughbreds and the ponies. The sebaceous glands secrete an oily substance which in the winter helps with waterproofing the coat while in the summer helps wick sweat through the coat.
Speaking of coats, here is a tip for a healthier and shinier coat. It is a supplement called TAHITIAN NONI® Equine Essentials™ from Tahitian Noni International. Show horses use it. Besides nicer coats, even all through the winter, TAHITIAN NONI® Equine Essentials™ supports the immune system; helps relieve stress, helps with digestion and nutrient absorption. Many an older horse has greatly benefited from TAHITIAN NONI® Equine Essentials Flex™.
Although horse owners know that their horses do well in both climates, it is incredible how their hydration levels change and just how adaptable horses are.

How are hemorrhoids treated?
Posted on September 29th, 2009 No commentsWell first you need to understand how do hemorrhoids happen. Several reasons lead to hemorrhoids:
Constipation and extra straining
Chronic Diarrhea and loose stools
Long sitting or standing
Weight lifting
Obesity
Pregnancy and childbirth
Inherited tendency to hemorrhoids. So, avoid all this and you are free. Obviously this list of reasons is too wide. The list of measures is wide too. Increase the fiber in your diet. Eat more cereals, fruits, vegetables, grains, etc. Psyllium and methylcellulose are supplemental types of fiber. Exercise, avoid long standing or sitting, don’t strain, keep the anal area clean. Increase liquids in your diet.
H-Miracle is one of the best remedy system available for Hemorrhoids.
Use stool softeners, stool-bulking agents (not a tasty ones, but what can you do).Treat diarrhea with anti-motility drugs and fiber. Not every of these methods are proved scientifically. Nonetheless they are included in the standard recommendations for hemorrhoids treatment.
To treat itching or discomfort you may use suppositories, ointments, creams, and gels. You may find that all in your local pharmacy. These products contain protectant and anesthetics (pain relievers). Local anesthetics numb the area and decrease burning and itching. Remember that local anesthetics may cause allergy. Analgesics (menthol, camphor) relieve pain and itching as well.
Vasoconstrictors reduce swelling in the perianal area. Though they may have side effects. Better discuss with your doctor. Protectants (kaolin, cocoa butter, lanolin, mineral oil, starch, zinc oxide or calamine, glycerin, etc) create a physical barrier to prevent contact of stool and the skin. This reduces irritation, itching, and burning. Similarly, some agents – astringents – dry the skin. That helps to relieve burning, itching, and pain as well.
To kill or at least suppress bacteria and other organisms use antiseptics. Boric acid, phenol, resorcinol and many others can be used. Again better to discuss with your doctor or at least pharmacist. Many of these drugs are sold over-the-counter. Corticosteroids decrease inflammation and relieve itching, but may cause skin damage. They should be used for few days only. Sitz bath may also help in relieving the symptoms.
Hemorrhoid Miracle System is a good way to treat this condition. Go and read more about H Miracle.
